WASHINGTONS DC, 9 Feb. 01 (ACI).- Actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who are famous for being considered a " solid pair" in a volatile Hollywood, surprised their fans when they announced their separation and, possible, divorce. Many questioned the causes of the decision, but between all the hypothesis there is one returning force: Nicole's desire to return to the Catholic faith of her childhood, but Tom's insisting on being a follower of the controversial " church " of the Scientology.
In the last few years, Cruise and Kidman have not only called attention by the films that they have carried out together and separately, but also by being the representatives of the sect that many artists claim to belong to . The pair was united eleven years ago, and have two adoptive children, along with fame and fortune. Both seemed to have an ideal life.
The media has begun to guess on the cause of the possible divorce and the " question of faith " seems to prevail.
Several magazines agree that Kidman left her husband because she did not want their children growing up within the Scientology sect, that at the moment is being processed judicially in Spain for twelve crimes.
NBC Journalist Jeannette Walls mentioned in an article the statements by Kidman to trusted friends saying that she did not want their children, Connor and Isabel, growing up according to the Scientology and that this had become a " major problem " with her and Cruise.
"I was raised a Catholic and a big part of me is still a Catholic girl," Kidman told Newsweek in 1998, implying that she had taken certain distance from the controversial religion founded by the science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
