Veronica - And we've also--Our Lady said that She will direct that Lucy receive Jacinta's picture. I've sent it many times to Coimbra, the message from Jacinta here with Our Lady. Jacinta has appeared now more than three times with Our Lady, and I have sent the messages to Coimbra, Portugal, where Lucy is. Because Our Lady said that Lucy will bear witness to the truth of Jacinta's appearing here.
That is one of the great graces, and presently, Our Lady said, it will remain a mystery, but in time you will understand. Lucy will bear witness to the truth of reality of the appearances of Our Lady at this Shrine [Our Lady of the Roses Shrine]. - October 6, 1973

Veronica - Jacinta will be beatified. And Our Lady said that Lucy will bear witness to her words, here at this Shrine! At this Shrine! She said that; that's what Our Lady said. Our Lady said Jacinta will be beatified. And Lucy will bear witness to her words, here at this Shrine. I don't know exactly . . .
And Our Lady said . . . She smiled and She said:
Our Lady - "That is all I will tell you, My child, at this time." - December 30, 1972

The day after Sister Lucy's death, Vittorio Messori (an Italian journalist who interviewed John Paul II for his book Crossing the Threshold of Hope), wrote in the Italian daily Corriere della Serra that Sister Lucy's cell in the convent at Coimbra "has already been sealed" and that "whatever is enclosed there will be passed through the sieve of trusted theologians and monsignors sent, one supposes, by the same Cardinal Ratzinger who, as custodian of orthodoxy, must keep at bay visionary temptations which always reemerge." He also revealed in his article that according to the Bishop of Coimbra, Sister Lucy's now-sealed cell is where "she would have had other apparitions, where she kept a diary, where she wrote letters to the Pope, where she had undergone her mystical intuitions."

Perhaps through this diary Sister Lucy "will bear witness" that her cousin Jacinta did indeed appear at Our Lady of the Roses Shrine in Bayside, New York.

Sister Lucy was silenced:

"But there is one incident that has appalled us all in Heaven that must be made known to mankind, because I feel in My heart for My Mother, Her great hurt and sorrow that Her Message at Fatima was not completely given to mankind. This evening I speak to you, My child Veronica, for you to tell the world that to hide a fact is often destructive. And this fact will be make known now—with or without Lucy—or others who cannot speak out because they are under obedience to their elders. You will repeat this, My child, though it may shock you. I say this evening, as your God, that on that date, as promised at Fatima, satan entered My Church upon earth. He brought with him his agents—and satan himself, the deceiver of all mankind—sat in on Vatican II and maneuvered all the outsiders to come in and distort My doctrines and distort the truth." - Jesus, June 18, 1986

"My child and My children, this message will not be greeted gleefully by your clergy. But since Lucy has been silenced, it is necessary that the world knows the truth. I will also send this message out through one more seer in the world, and if it is not abided by I have nothing to do but to allow the Chastisement to fall upon mankind." - Jesus, June 18, 1986
